Ciné Dia upgrades its Pablo to 4K and Stereo3D

Paris-based full services facility invests in "future-proof" technology
Epinay sur Seine, France, 1 June 2011: The Ciné Dia Group, a leading French film laboratory and post house located just outside Paris, recently upgraded its Quantel Pablo, purchased in 2007, to full 4K and stereoscopic capability. The company provides the film and television industry with probably the widest range of services of any facility in Paris. It is a market leader for the production of theatrical copies of trailers, commercials and longform movies, and is also one of the foremost private restoration laboratories in France.

"When we first bought our Pablo, the post-production industry had already fully embraced digital techniques," explained Daniel Colland, CEO of Ciné Dia. "However our lab work was still mainly film-based. The cinema industry is now increasingly going digital, 4K and 3D. That's why we decided to move up to the full Pablo feature set because we know it's totally future-proof and will allow us to respond to our customers' demands to serve this fast-changing market. We have chosen Quantel kit again, as we did when we first bought our Domino and Editbox many years ago, because we know that Quantel is consistently the fastest, most precise and most creative technology on the market.

"Beyond that, we know they'll be there for us when we need them; making sure we get the most out of our system every day and providing us with the updates and upgrades we'll need to stay in tune with the market and one step ahead of the competition. After over a quarter century of confidence, we have built up what we call in French a 'capital confiance', which means that we have learnt to trust each other and turned our mutual loyalty into a shared business asset," Colland concluded.

Martin Mulligan, Quantel Sales and Marketing Director, said, "Ciné Dia is by tradition a very loyal customer and has been at the forefront of digital post-production and laboratory services in France. Ciné Dia continues to break new ground in the market; they are a true benchmark player for us, driving us to increasingly high levels of excellence. Their new Pablo 4K stereoscopic system will enable them to develop business in these new value-added segments of the market. We're thrilled that they've chosen Quantel once again."
