Harmonic Selects CVE as 2022 Partner of the Year

During its annual sales kick-off partners event at the start of the year, Harmonic awarded Italian distributor Communication Video Engineering (CVE) with a prestigious award.

CVE, Harmonic's Italian partner for over 15 years, received the award for "Partner of the Year 2022" after carrying out a series of long projects with outstanding tenacity, dedication and perseverance, in the words of Tony Berthaud, vice president, sales and services, APAC and EMEA, Harmonic.



During a presentation at the event, Harmonic underlined how 2022 was generally a great year and that CVE stood out for its ability to create and manage excellent relationships with longstanding customers, as well as engage with new customers and markets for Harmonic in Italy.

While we’ve won several awards over the years, this one takes on a different meaning. Traditionally, these awards recognize the highest turnover in sales, but this was not the case in this instance.

While our sales in 2022 were stellar, we were recognized for showing perseverance and tenacity in pursuing business, managing well-established customers and finding new ones. Those characteristics precisely match CVE’s daily philosophy.

Just to name a few, our customers include: Mediaset with all the DTT systems, EI Tower with all the DTT systems, Persidera with DTT, Rai Way, and a large number of broadcasters who are equally demanding in terms of quality of service and product offered, such as Telenorba, Telelombardia, Sport Italia, Telecity, RTV38, SuperTennis, RETE7, and Giornale di Sicilia, plus over 100 customers who have bought solutions to support their transition from DVB-T to DVB-T2S”.

“Regional broadcasters are normally accustomed to using lower performing products, but they needed a solution like Harmonic’s XOS to reduce bandwidth without switching to HEVC,” continued Catalano. “Here the long partnership with Harmonic came into play, and we were able to explain to Harmonic the needs of the Italian market. As a result, Harmonic created a solution of the highest quality but within the budget of our customers, with all of the characteristics necessary for national and regional broadcasters.

This allowed us, in 2022, to start implementing a new sales method, for the first time in 40 years of company history, relying on some sub-dealer partners, thus having a broader and more localized approach to the Italian market”.
