SALT LAKE CITY — April 11, 2011 — NVerzion, a leading provider of cutting-edge tools for digital broadcasting and television station automation, today announced the launch of the NCompass software platform that enables broadcasters to manage the processing and playout of file-based content received through a variety of content delivery systems like PitchBlue™ and Pathfire. NCompass allows stations to manage each platform with a single, common user interface providing access to program metadata and enabling operators to take content directly from providers to the on-air video server.
File-based workflow is rapidly becoming the norm in the broadcast industry with the majority of commercial and programming material being delivered as digital files. However, the A/V files delivered by various content delivery systems are not always compatible with the video server and require transcoding to make them playable on the broadcast facility's existing system. NVerzion's NCompass is the solution to this problem — it not only streamlines the broadcast workflow, but also allows for the efficient use of the delivered metadata.
NCompass empowers the broadcast operator to choose and move specific content from different delivery systems both manually and automatically. Manual transfer is achieved by simply dragging and dropping the desired content to the preferred destination. In the automated system, users create a set of configurable, predefined rules for automatic transfer, naming, and segmenting of content. The rules are stored in individual, editable text files and the format can be changed based on the delivery system. Additionally, material can also be moved from the source device to configurable destinations, such as FlipFactory and Carbon Coder.
"Our goal at NVerzion is to eliminate the broadcasters' pain by providing them with the necessary tools for efficient automated workflow," said Scott Murphy, president of NVerzion. "NCompass is a crucial part of the toolkit because it empowers operators to easily and cost-effectively manage content and metadata without having to worry about file format compatibility or the specific requirements of a given content delivery system."
When integrated with NVerzion's NBase media database manager, NCompass automatically updates metadata and in most cases, automatically segments the program. This useful segmentation provides crucial time savings down the road when the content is recalled from the database.
Configuring the NCompass system is easy and the software can run independent of the NVerzion Automation system. Also, since NCompass is licensed based on the number of delivery sources with which a broadcaster interfaces, there is no additional charge required for destinations such as servers or transcoders. NVerzion has already installed several of these packages throughout the United States.
NCompass will be on display in the NVerzion booth SL 2505 at the 2011 NAB Show. More information on NVerzion, NCompass, and other products from the company is available at www.nverzion.com.

KISS Your Scheduling Woes Goodbye: NVerzion Introduces New Cost-Effective Traffic and Billing System
SALT LAKE CITY — April 11, 2011 — NVerzion, a leading provider of cutting-edge tools for digital broadcasting and television station automation, today announced the launch of the Keep It Simple Scheduler (KISS), the company's new traffic and billing system that addresses the needs of both television and radio broadcasters by enabling simplified and organized scheduling, billing, and accounting of broadcast orders.
KISS features an intuitive and simple-to-use interface and operates with, or independent of, NVerzion's popular automation platform. KISS simplifies the potentially complicated broadcast scheduling and accounting processes by offering a simplified approach to traffic and billing. By utilizing KISS, the broadcast salesperson can easily complete an order and forward it to the traffic manager, who then creates a daily schedule and passes it on to automation for implementation. Once the program segment is aired, KISS imports the as-run information as text files, which can then be edited or modified to include appropriate ad-rates for commercial spots.
Offered with a unique pricing structure that enables a station to own KISS with a single purchase at a cost-effective price, as opposed to most traffic systems that require recurring monthly and/or annual fees, KISS is an affordable answer to one of the more challenging problems stations face.
"NVerzion's automation systems have always been attractive to our customers because of the robust, customizable features we make available at an affordable price," said NVerzion's president, Scott Murphy. "Now with KISS, we're proving that broadcasters can have a first-rate traffic and scheduling tool without being burdened with a recurring monthly fee."
KISS also includes a host of additional options. KISS billing software automates and simplifies the creation of invoices for customers in the broadcast industry. It also integrates the customer, inventory, and run data with QuickBooks® accounting software to simplify the process of generating invoices and reports, virtually eliminating billing errors and improving client relationships.
KISS is fully integrated with NVerzion's flagship automation platform, which is built on a modular architecture that allows stations to easily specify a system to meet their needs. Besides automating control of the playout operation, the NVerzion system also provides complete database management across all applications, along with the ability to view, trim, or segment clips and even to create virtual sub-clips from existing clips.
KISS will be demonstrated in the NVerzion booth SL2505 at the 2011 NAB Show. More information on NVerzion, KISS, and other products from the company is available at www.nverzion.com.
