At IBC2010, never.no will showcase innovative technology applications that allow existing and aspiring broadcasters to engage viewers and consumers in the media experience, both on the Internet and on traditional on-air television. In addition, never.no will be demonstrating its latest advances in automated social media integrations with Twitter™, Facebook®, and YouTube, using the latest devices, including the Apple iPad™.

Interactivity Suite

The never.no Interactivity Suite (IS) is an array of software applications that together empower true participation television by enabling viewers to influence a broadcast in real time and to interact with one another and the rest of the world. In addition, the IS enables broadcasters to effortlessly multipublish user-generated content (UGC) and to multisource aggregated content from the hottest social sites, including Twitter™, Facebook®, and YouTube. The never.no IS gives owners and advertisers a means to track consumers across different medi, communicating individually with them and tailoring and optimizing each individual's content and sponsor environment.

At IBC2010, never.no will also highlight Interactivity Desk (ID), the software tool for on-air and off-air editorial control of interactive and multisourced social media content. ID harvests various forms of internal and viewer contribution data, including text, images, audio, and video, and enables the editor to schedule, moderate, edit, and sort the data before submission to broadcast systems, social networking sites, Internet pages, or STB or IPTV middleware. never.no ID can feed data to various systems in parallel for true multicast participation and TV and social media integration. In addition, ID contains a built-in scheduler, which automatically schedules the running of UGC content or interactive elements such as quizzes, polls, votes, and feeds (such as Twitter and Facebook) without the need for studio intervention.

ID also provides basic and advanced broadcast control so that editors and moderators can automatically or manually trigger CG sequences, tickers, scrolls, bugs, or segments during direct or near-direct broadcasting. never.no offers turnkey integration with Vizrt®, Harris® RTX™, Adobe® Flash®, Microsoft® Silverlight™, and social media platforms. An open-documented XML standard adaptable to other third-party systems is also available.

never.no will further showcase enhancements to the IS's Auto Dialogue System (ADS) to enable rich interaction with social media sites so that on-air journalists or hosts can instantly share their thoughts and incorporate audience buzz about musical, sporting, or other live events.

Also part of the never.no IS is the Dynamic Content Scheduler (DCS), a graphical user interface for configuring, deploying, and scheduling interactive automated TV graphics. Upgrades include Harris IconMaster™ support, which allows control of an IconMaster over a serial connection relying on the M2100 protocol. DCS now includes expanded flexibility when working with Vizrt 3.0, Harris RTX, Adobe Flash, and Microsoft Silverlight.
