Future Media Concepts to Offer New Class in Gaming App Development for Android™ Devices
NEW YORK — May 25, 2011 — Future Media Concepts (FMC), the nation's premier digital media training organization, today announced it will offer a new hands-on class on how to develop gaming apps for the Android™ mobile operating system.
The new class is part of FMC's expansion of its mobile app development division, a response to the fast growing market. At the end of the five day class, each student will have completed a gaming app of their own.
"Games are the most downloaded segment in the exploding market for apps of all kinds," said Jeff Rothberg, president and co-founder of FMC. "You bring the creative spark to this class, and we'll do the rest — giving students a full complement of advanced tools for implementing art, audio, physics, and more to develop compelling new games."
The new Android course will be offered in Chicago, starting June 27 and Aug. 29; in Washington, D.C., starting Sept. 21; and New York, starting Oct. 3.
FMC also offers a popular five day class in gaming app development for Apple® iOS. Attendees of this class, who must be familiar with Objective-C to enroll, will learn a variety of frameworks and tools, ranging from low-level OpenGL to industry-standard engines like the Unreal Development Kit (UDK). Students will even learn how to use the Apple iPad® 2's new camera and gyroscopes to create augmented reality apps specifically for the iPad 2.
The iOS classes, which meet from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., are scheduled for New York beginning June 13, Aug. 1, Oct. 3, and Dec. 5; for Washington, D.C., Aug. 1, Sept. 26, and Nov. 14; and for Chicago June 27, and Sept. 19.
