Eurosport is officially again the reference multimedia platform throughly devoted to winter sports.
This season 2011-2012 is even richer, following the live broadcasts of 12 winter disciplines on Eurosport, Eurosport HD and Eurosport 2, and covering all major events for a huge amount of over 1600 total broadcast hours devoted to winter sports.
To be mentioned also the Online service, the exclusive covering of Eurosport Player, Europsort web TV allowing all sports fans to get personally involved by using their PC, following all digital contents which the European leader multimedia platform offers all subscribers, in addition to the live streaming of Eurosport and Eurosport 2, which are bonus channels dedicated to winter sports and the possibility to see again the best tournaments and races in the proper video on demand section.
Besides, all mobile spectators can follow all Eurosport activities on several mobile devices both Apple and Android to be real time updated wherever they are and at any time.
Three main channels broadcast on SKY Italy satellite platform available on HotBird 13° East, Eurosport (Sky, channel 211), Eurosport HD (Sky, channel 211 on Sky HD decoder) and Eurosport 2 (Sky, channel 212). Among the main sports followed from the opening of the new season officially started last October, “Sci Alpino”, with some 180 hours proposed on Eurosport/Eurosport HD + 30 ore su Eurosport 2; The “Coppa del Mondo”: all 43 events covered live from 22nd October through 18th March 2012; cross country skiing with 130 hours on Eurosport/Eurosport HD plus some 50 hours on Eurosport 2; the “Coppa del Mondo” World Championship:again followed on all 16 events live, including the Tour de Ski, delivered from 18th November 2011 to 20th March 2012. Ad again Biathlon with 200 hours on Eurosport, the “Coppa del Mondo” with 9 stages again live, from 30th Nov 2011 to 18th March 2012. The World Championship in Rupholding, Germany, due on air from 29th February to 11yh March 2012 live. Plus Europe Championships in Brezno-Osrblie, Slovakia, 26th January to 4Th February 2012 live. And again, the “Combinata nordica” with 30 hours on Eurosport plus 15 on Eurosport 2, “Coppa del Mondo” all 13 stages live 25th Nov. to 10th March. Ski jump with a total amount on 350 hours both on Eurosport/Eurosport HD plus 100 on Eurosport 2. And the list is incredibly still long including the Four Hills Tournament, Sled Worls Championship in Altenberg, Curling, female Championship in Lethbridge, Canada, Male Championship in Basel, Switzerland, World Championships in Moscow, Russia; Speed Skating, Figure Skating in Sheffield, UK, in Niece , France. The ISU Grand Prix. And Snowboard, Freestyle Skiing, Ice Hockey, the Spengler Cup in Switzerland at Davos, the World Championship U20 in Canada, and the Extreme Sports Winter Dew Tour with 3 events on Snowboard and Freestyle Skiing.
In other words, an incredible amount of sports specialized programming localized in many different languages. The Italian headquarters in Milan have recently moved to a new location from previous area near Castello Sforzesco to new headquarters in Corso Sempione with wider spaces which we'll be describing soon. All broadcasts are aired from Paris but firstly they are delivered to the Milan headquarter to record the Italian comment and to be personalized with proper graphics when necessary. Then all programs are delivered back to the main Eurosport tv center in Paris and rebroadcast via satellite. We'll come back for more technical details of the Italian facility asap.
