RAI and Eurosport
RCS Sport has recently signed with RAI and Eurosport to extend up to 2016 the partnership on tv rights concerning Giro d'Italia and some other 5 Italian bicycle races (Milano-Sanremo, Il Giro di Lombardia, la Tirreno-Adriatico, Strade Bianche e Roma Maxima). The good news is live production will be increased and for the first time ever all broadcasts will bee in HD, just as happened with Giro d'Italia.

News Touch is the perfect product for a coverage of sports and news press cuttings on live TV, but also on the web, or to provide a system of electronic whiteboard presentation for situations such as sporting events or the weather, where you need to comment, with a graphic overlay, specific images or even video elements. Thanks to its advanced graphics capabilities it also allows to playout video clips, comment on them "graphically", using a variety of drawing tools customized for the user profile and instantly recalled. Thanks to the built-in web browser News Touch is able to allow the reporter or commentator to "live outline" content on the web. Text, graphics, images and multimedia content can be viewed live or saved to your local disk before the event to ensure a smooth access to web content.
Provided natively for HD-SDI and HDMI, News Touch incorporates all the functionality of mixer video, interactive graphics, web videos and much more. Vis IP may be managed secondary external events, using an array dedicated video, up to a maximum of 16 inputs (4 standard). All this at a very low cost, but with exceptional performance and smooth graphics, effective "elastic". News Touch does not have the costs of installation and training, and can be used by simply connecting to the LAN and the video matrix.
Broadband Telecom, Fastweb and NGN.
Telecom Italy and Fastweb, two leading Italian telecommunications companies, signed a memorandum of understanding for the development of their next-generation network architecture ITICab (Fibre to the Cabinet - fibre optics + copper). The two operators have started each a its national development plan for the next generation network and the agreement provides that, in areas of common interest are identified and exploited all the opportunities of cost savings and investment, through the sharing of passive infrastructure and coordination of implementation, in order to accelerate the roll-out of the laying of optical fiber.
This could lead to a rapid spread of ultra broadband services on a national scale in line with the objectives set out in the Digital Agenda European Union.
VdsI2 can provide the user with high speed connections (up to 80-100 Mbps) This is good news also for sports broadcasters using more and more rucksack video links with iP connections.
La7
Mr Urbano Cairo of Cairo Communications is the new owner of Italian tv channels a7 and La7D (51% remains of MTV property). The two channels, (previous property of TiMedia) which can't be re-sold for at least 24 months, after a long and troubled period (less 11,2% 2012 revenues if compared to 2011) will proceed particularly devoting attentions to news, sports and information with a younger daytime target.
EXSPORT ready for RAI Sport 2 (1st August 2013)
In view of the EXPO 2015 and considering in Lombardia 38.6% of the population plays sports, the cultural production system amounts to 19 million Euros while the armature of Tourism is approximately 2.5 billion Euros per year.
The theme chosen for Expo Milano 2015 "Feeding the planet. Energy for life" can be represented in an effective way
also from sports, culture and art, as stressed by University of Milan Bicocca, where the event was officially presented.
It consists in a series of events dedicated to culture and sport that will culminate in 2015 with the" WFC World Ficts Challenge", the Finale of 20 stages in the 5 continents of the World Championship on TV, Film, Communication and Culture Sports broadcast live for 5 days on thematic channel RAI Sport 2.
