Italian bicycle race “Giro d'Italia 2012” live, video, streaming and interviews.

The world famous Italian bicycle race “Il Giro d'Italia” 2012 edition began on Saturday May 5th, from Denmark (!) For the millions of fans scattered the whole world round there are several ways to follow it, like an iOS application, another one for the Android world devices and several live events in streaming on the web. 10th May 2012

During the day the race started, even the Apple Store devoted some room to comment the event.

We are talking of the 95° Giro d’Italia, the world renowned Italian bicycle race which is definitely considered a symbol of this sport. In the proper section “Giro d’Italia 2012” within the Apple Store (.it) the surfer may find apps for iPhone and iPad created on the purpose of keeping you always updated on every piece of news of the “pink race” as it has been nicknamed. A lot many info can also be found redarding magazines, thematic webzines and other apps for cyclists and sportsmen and a lot more.

So if cycling travels very fast, so technology does it too, and technological advancements are not applied only to frames, pinions, and bike brakes: The Giro d'Italia, has reached this year its 95th edition, keeping its pace even with web and mobile devices.

Italian most important sports newspaper “La gazzetta dello Sport” and its editor group, RCS, have created a pink (to mirror the color of the newspaper pages) application thoroughly devoted to Giro. It's a fre app made for iPhone, and iPad compatible and both for Android smartphones and it is full of interesting contents and info.

Users may consult all datas of the several stages of the race, plus live updates of “the race during the race”, all charts updated regularly for every “maglia” (every rider). We may also get all datas of all teams and all riders, not missing any news, deeper analysis and interviews in video formats. All first impressions of the early adopters of such “giro app” are definitely positive.

All those who do not own an iPhone or an Android Phone, they may have all the same many chances to closely follow the Giro d'Italia - which this year funnily started from … Denmark - on the internet.

The race as said, began last 5th May with an individual single crono stage was won by US Taylor Phinney (who holds presently the pink jersey), will come to an end in Milan on 27th May and it is being broadcast on several websites.

Among these as you may have already guessed, the Gazzetta dello Sport website, dedicating to the Giro a special section with all info and deeper reports plus videos. All info from studio are covered by Francesco Pancani and Davide Cassani with comments from motorcycles following the cyclists on behalf of Andrea De Luca and Paolo Savoldelli. During the day the website presents a lot of appointments to introduce the next stages before departure and to comment results after riders have crossed the finishing line. Several live broadcasts are available on Rai Sport 2 and Rai Tre. …
