Exora, part of World Linx Alliance, the HF consortium

Exora is a long experienced name in the broadcast world.

The company based in Switzerland near Lugano has a strategic position right in the center of Europe. So their role is both being a Swiss specialized "tv service" operating on a long list of sports and entertainment events, engaged both in central European events for international broadcasters and also in Italy for the personalization of Italian broadcasters, (RAI, SKY, Mediaset) to be applied on international multilateral programs just like for the Champions League.

In general the company owns four OB-Vans and equipments to carry out shootings and satellite links, and provides independent technical resources of DSNG type.
Four are the mobile vehicles of large size, including a 16 camera ob-van, another one handling up to 12 cameras and two minor others capable of production tasks with up to five cameras each. All vehicles can shoot in HD.
Respectively the large vehicles are 12m and 10m long, both with expansion.
The larger vehicle is often engaged in important events like Serie A football.
Exora deals with football and all sports, and recently was engaged in the World University Games, held in Trentino, and the European Rowing Championship.
Also an agreement with Class Horse, led Exora to produce several horse races broadcasts radiated throughout Europe.
In December 2013, the Swiss company formed a consortium after realizing that several sports competitions are facing high costs operational resources but a very low use of such resources in terms of working days.
So Exora put up a consortium that includes four different companies. Among these, a French company called AMP Visual, and World Linx Alliance, a company which owns a special purpose aircraft equipped with all the necessary equipments set up to carry out the functions of a tv repeater.
Within this new consortium are other smaller companies, one based in Britain and one in Finland, and all together they made sure to create all the compatible and complementary technical resources necessary for outside and aerial shootings and broadcasts.
For example, the motorbikes are equipped with HF devices that can also alternatively be installed on a motorcycle sled to shoot a cross country or on a sailboat in the case of sailing; the airplane mentioned is prepared to receive and deliver where necessary all the signals through dedicated high-frequency devices making use of auto-tracking antennas placed on the lower part of the fuselage.
So Exora is in a perfect position to offer the market a complete, coordinated, and very valid service for the whole wireless shooting needs, so useful in sports races.
With this new and useful compatibility, the first work was carried out in March 2014 for RAI following the whole series of ProTour cycling races that culminated with the Milan-San Remo, but that had begun in late February with the Roma Maxima and Strade Bianche, the Tirreno-Adriatico.
Exora can also provide an helicopter Cineflex equipped which can be a high frequency repeater and a shooting camera from above to be integrated in the mentioned system.
The consortium and tech facilities in the event of important broadcasts makes use of a combination of high-frequency devices among which NuLink, a small Swiss company, which has developed specifically -for that type of event- a particular and very efficient encoding algorithm of the signal capable of a better output from towns centers and exceeds the typical noise of the digital terrestrial services, is less degraded by plants and physical obstacles, narrow streets, the houses, etc.
