Three headquarters in different regions, Pesaro, Ancona and Brescia and a huge specialization for television shooting facilities through a number of OB-Vans. Today Cinevideo is considered a full "broadcast service provider" owing proprietary OB broadcast vehicles, some ten professionals employed plus a number of freelancers.
SNG services and multi camera vans are regularly hired by major Italian broadcasters especially for Cinevideo expertise and reliability.
Today it has five mobile vehicles: "The main one is a 10 cameras in HD and is our flagship," says the owner Adriano Buonomo.
"Then we have a second vehicle called OB-Van 2, which is a four camera in SD used for events "a little smaller" as live broadcasts for RAI or news reports and sports news edits. OB3, completed last year, is a penta camera in HD, very lean and fast, so it can be used even on sites a little uncomfortable, where you can not get there with larger vehicles. For example, recently, it has been used for SKY Italy integration on some matches of the Europa League."
Normally it is used for the integration of the Football League shot for SKY with two cameras dealing with exclusive footage and interviews.
The OB-Van4 deals with SNG satellite uplink in HD, includes three cameras on board and is designed to work both in Italy and abroad on small budget productions, but it carries a complete and modern technology setup that lets you do any work typical of a medium sized OB-van.
The OB Van-4 is then able to setup satellite links in MPEG2 and MPEG4, it has a full video and audio control room and capable of Dolby 5.1 surround broadcasts.
The last vehicle is called OB-Van5 and it was delivered a few weeks ago. It is dedicated mainly to sports shooting, in ultra slow motion, focusing solely on the replay in hyper slow motion.
Actually it has on board a high-speed camera that shoots lot of frames per second and Cinevideo is the first company in Italy to have purchased such Ultramotion by I-movix called "Sprintcam"
I-MOVIX is a Belgian company that produces technologies dedicated to the world of extreme slow motion shots from 75 to over 5,000 frames per second. These integrate optimally in the broadcast production workflow and perfectly combine different functions, from a very high frame rate capability to instant replay, or continuous streaming with the new system called X10. These features are considered ideal and indispensable especially when shooting live sports.
With this highly sophisticated video system Cinevideo is covering for Sky Italy the most important events of football, including all the "big match". Buonomo Andrea says: "The market had already a product of a similar nature called "super slow motion" but it stops at 150 frames per second, while this can get even up to 2600! Normally in football and in Italian stadiums that unfortunately do not have optimal lighting, we are forced to work up to 500 frames per second.
In the afternoons, events such as rugby, as it was played at the Stadio Olimpico (Italy against New Zealand) last November, we can get up to 1,000 frames per second and sometimes even more.
The real problem is that the higher the speed and the longer the replay so it becomes not useful for the current program because it would take too long, although the show is greater.
We have seen that a good compromise is that of the five hundred frames per second and it is in fact the most widely used.
This OB-Van was designed to accommodate four camera HYPER SLOW MOTION systems, although at the moment the cameras of this type are only two."
