Streambox® Live™ — Broadband Video Contribution for iPhone® Users
At the 2010 NAB Show, Streambox will demonstrate a new version of its Streambox® Live™ broadband video contribution service that enables iPhone® users to upload high-quality video using the AT&T 3G network. Streambox® Live™ enables broadcasters to enhance breaking news stories with ad hoc content supplied by a variety of contributors including video journalists, stringers, and citizen reporters. The Streambox® Live™ encoder is made available at no cost. The encoder may be easily downloaded to the contributor's laptop or mobile phone to enable transmission of live video with minimal latency. At the back end, broadcasters subscribing to the Streambox® Live™ service are able to manage, track, archive, and view unlimited amounts of video uploads from contributors.
Streambox® ACT-L3™ Hybrid HD/SD Software Encoder for Apple Mac® OS X
The award-winning Streambox® ACT-L3™ software encoder now supports high-quality HD-SDI video streaming via Apple® Mac OS® X platforms, an industry first. The hybrid SD/HD solution enables field news teams using Mac® laptops to gather, edit, and stream live or file-based HD-SDI video over IP networks from remote locations. Working in concert with Matrox's MXO2 SDI device, the encoder provides a variety of professional inputs and outputs including HDMI capture of raw and uncompressed SD or HD footage for the highest-possible video quality, professional audio inputs and outputs, and HDMI video monitoring. The Streambox encoder is capable of encoding 1080i HD video at up to 6 Mbps (depending on the Mac's processing power). For clients using air cards for wireless IP access, the Streambox encoder supports mobile 3G and 4G bonding on Mac platforms, which effectively doubles the contributor's available bandwidth. With 4G bonding, the system has the potential to support broadcast-quality HD video in 720p format.
Streambox® SBT3-9550 Portable SD/HD Encoder
Streambox will introduce the SBT3-9550 — the company's first hardware-based encoder to offer both high-quality SD or HD in a fully portable form factor for live or file-based video acquisition. Ideal for field newsgathering and other mobile applications, the SBT3-9550 offers the ability to transport full-resolution HD video at speeds up to 20 Mbps. The compact, lightweight, and rugged chassis can be easily transported in a backpack, and can be deployed in minutes with a range of power options including AC and DC connectors as well as a Li-Poly battery system. With the system's intuitive touch-screen interface, non-technical users can connect quickly and easily via dual Ethernet as well as Wi-Fi platforms such as 3G/4G mobile broadband devices including browser-capable smartphones.
Streambox® SBT3-5300 Encoder
The new SBT3-5300 is ideal for live news broadcasts, distribution of video to cable headends, SNG/ENG vehicles, and other video delivery applications that require high reliability and performance with minimal power consumption. The 1RU solution packages all of the advanced networking capabilities of Streambox's industry-leading ACT-L3™ codec in a smaller, lighter-weight chassis — delivering unrivaled SD video quality and compression at data rates ranging from 64 Kbps to 15 Mbps. The system's advanced forward error correction and burst error protection helps to mitigate packet loss and network jitter, and its low end-to-end latency makes the SBT3-5300 ideal for video conferencing as well as broadcasting. An easy-to-use Web interface enables seamless local or remote system management.
