ROMA-JUVENTUS: HOST AND INTEGRATION in a single OBVAN

"We made the HD production of the ROME / JUVENTUS match with our new ObVan Dolphin 7.0, using 14 HD cameras, 2 SuperSlowmotion 3x cameras and 1 UltraEmotion camera.

Our vehicle was used for the Host production of the game and also for Sky integration thanks to the second internal gallery, with independent audio and video."
This is what the Cinevideo technical manager, Andrea Buonomo, he also adds some other details:
"The new OB-Van UHD-HDR by Cinevideo is called "Dolphin" and is the seventh of our fleet based in Pescara."

A very recent engagement is the Serie A Roma-Juventus football match that was played in Rome at the Olympic stadium on May 13th.
In this venue many events are held every year and therefore does not pose particular difficulties in the management of filming.
Andrea tells us: "The event was tackled by Cinevideo in the double configuration of international host broadcaster but also for the customization and integration for Sky Italia."
"Our mobile vehicle is particularly versatile and has been designed to host contemporarily two video events, one for international feeds and one for the national personalization feed and two simultaneous audio features, just as happened in this event."
"15 Sony cameras plus one I-MOVIX were used in the field for Ultaemotion shooting for a total of 16 cameras and among these two are SuperMotion 3x."
"The production areas are completely separated over a room of about 60 square meters, made in a three axis 12-meter long and 6-meter wide, in operational mode, that includes 3 expansions, two on one side and one on the other."
"The vehicle is born with UHD-HDR equipments even if here it was operating in HD with Sony HSC 300 cameras, with 4 onboard EVS XT3 replay servers, audio mixer of the ARTEMIS series Calrec, Sony XVS8000 video mixer, and Sony HDC4300 cameras for the SuperMotion."
The event required a considerable deployment of technology and people, in fact, some fifty technicians were hired, 38 for the host part and a dozen for integration. Seventeen camera operators, seven RVM technicians for replay (six plus one for Sky), 4 shared camera controls; then audio assistants, video mixers, audio mixers, production managers, director and others.
The global setup was quite complex as it is also to be noted the presence of two additional mobile vehicles, OB1 that took care of the personalization for the filming broadcast on Mediaset and another gallery to create the personalization dedicated to RAI broadcasts.
Three feeds were relayed to Lega Calcio, one national, one international and one for the Asian countries.
The transport of the signals took place on fiber and was mostly taken care of by RAI Way.
The camera placement resumed the classic standard for the Serie A as desired by Lega Calcio, which provides 4 points of shooting from the main stand, the central 1 and 2, plus two more placed on the 16 meters for the off side, a camera at the center of the field, the number 3, a steadycam operating in RF mode that deals with the pre-game, the arrival of the teams, which takes pictures in the locker room and during the game operates on the left side of the field.
On the right side of the field a back goal consisted of a Jimmy-jib mounted in 11-meter mode, a camera was placed on the north curve with long lens, then two rear cameras were placed, one on the left and one on the right, always with long lenses of which the right one was a SuperMotion; on the left on the long side of the field another camera with long optics was the other SuperMotion.
For the customization of Sky, two more cameras in the field were equipped with long optics, placed in reverse, while Mediaset for its custom shootings had two other cameras in the back goal.
The Ultraemotion camera can operate up to 2600 fps, while on this occasion it worked at 500 fps and was equipped with a deflicker system to counter the flickering of the stadium lights.
The audio was made in 5.1 multi-channel surround and all the cameras were equipped with a Sennheiser directional microphone and other "ad hoc" placed near the curves and called "spatial" that captured the ambient sound of the stadium.
Audio control was performed using a Calrec "Soccer app" app on a tablet.
Just move a finger on the screen and the mixer that is connected opens and closes the faders of the various microphones accordingly.
