The Sports Video Group was formed in 2006 to support the professional community that relies on video, audio, and broadband technologies to produce and distribute sports content. Leagues, owners, teams, players, broadcasters, webcasters, and consumer technology providers have joined the SVG to learn from each other, turn vision into reality, implement new innovations, while sharing experiences that will lead to advancements in the sports production/distribution process and the overall consumer sports experience.

Post Lockdown in Italy, almost ready to restart: some views from tv production services (part 1&2)


TV shooting market in the entertainment and sports areas has closed in on itself in recent years, producing, in practice, a certain concentration of forces in the hands of a few highly specialized production companies.

In addition to rather contracting in number, the production services that physically carry out the filming of sporting events from the venues, in these months of widespread pandemic and due to the stop and cancellation of live matches, have suffered greatly, preparing themselves in the best way for a longed “re-start".

The new 4K UHD ob-van by Aret for the "Qatar Cultural and Heritage Events Center"

The client who commissioned the latest OB-Van from the Italian company Aret Video & Audio Engineering, Zibido San Giacomo, on the outskirts of Milan, is called "Qatar Cultural and Heritage Events Center".

At the time of writing, the new 9 meter long vehicle is ready for delivery, does not yet have a "stage name" and is also awaiting external graphic customization.

What was SKY’s strategy to guarantee business continuity during the Covid-19 crises?

Protecting our people has been, at all times during this emergency, our number one priority. 

While doing that, we have been working to continue to provide our customers with the best content experience. Sky has put almost all of its employees in smart working since February 24th, two weeks ahead of the government-imposed lockdown on March 8th. From that day, the area of Content Tech and Operations that I manage has 90% of its people working from home.
