Canon Cinema EOS. An evening with Larry Thorpe and Vincent Laforet

The Studio-B&H, Canon U.S.A. and their technology partners are proud to invite you to a very special event held at the prestigious DGA Theater in New York on March 14.

  

Come join us for unique presentations, screenings of groundbreaking digital cinematography and a panel conversation immediately followed by an audience Q&A with two industry leaders who will discuss how to merge Canon’s innovative technology with storytelling and the creative process of filmmaking. After the presentations, you are invited to visit our technology display for a closer look at Canon’s Cinema EOS products and discover how content creators are being empowered with unique tools for the world of 4K digital filmmaking.

Refreshments will be served in the DGA Lounge.

Larry Thorpe

In 2004, Larry joined Canon U.S.A.’s Broadcast & Communications Division, where he is now Senior Fellow, Professional Engineering & Solutions, Imaging Technologies & Communications Group. He is a Life Fellow of SMPTE and the recipient of the NAB 2000 Television Engineering Achievement Award. Larry holds ten patents based upon his work at RCA in color television cameras and telecine products and has published numerous papers on Camera Technology and the topic of HDTV imaging. He spent 22 years with Sony Electronics, where, among other roles, he served as the SVP of Content Creation Systems for the Broadcast and Professional Company.

 

Vincent Laforet

Canon Explorer of Light, Director, Director of Photography, member of the Directors Guild of America and the International Cinematographers Guild/Local 600

Vincent is a three-time winner at the prestigious 2010 Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. He is an acclaimed director and Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer who is known for his forward-thinking approach to image-making and storytelling. In addition to having been commissioned by just about every important international publication—including Vanity Fair, The New York Times Magazine, National Geographic, Sports Illustrated, Time, Newsweek,and Life—Vincent is considered a pioneer both for his innovative tilt-shift and aerial photography and in the field of HD-capable DSLR cameras. Vincent has also pioneered the use of the new Cinema EOS products with his unbridled approach to filmmaking.
